Banner placement guidelines
Safe, Readable Banner Placement in Short-Form Video
An overlay needs to be readable without hiding the reason someone is watching. Review the complete video with captions and platform controls, not just the banner in isolation. A top or bottom position is a starting point, not a universal safe-zone guarantee.
Get campaign scopePreview in context
Protect the video. Keep the message readable.
A banner position is chosen for each creative and viewing environment. There is no single safe rectangle that works for every platform, caption style or scene.
Keep essential content clear
Check faces, products, gameplay, captions and platform interface controls. Move the banner if it obscures the reason to watch.
Review on a phone
Play the actual export at normal speed and phone size. Check contrast, message length and every animation transition without pausing.
Check the destination path
The in-video artwork is not itself clickable. Confirm the supported profile, description or other link path for the selected platform.
Conceptual placement map
Choose a position.
Do not cover the story.
The top and bottom boxes are alternative candidates, not two simultaneous banners. Review the subject, captions and platform controls in the actual video before choosing either position.
Not to scale. A clear area in one scene may become occupied later in the clip.
The placement diagram is conceptual, not a pixel-accurate platform specification. Final position and any required disclosures are reviewed on the intended platform before launch.
Campaign fit
Check the whole viewing experience
- Keep faces, product demonstrations, important action, and captions visible.
- Use concise text with enough contrast at normal phone viewing size.
- Check the start, middle, and end of the video for moving obstructions.
Evidence and limits
Know what can be checked before launch
ClipAds does not guarantee a single safe area works across every platform, device, or video. Final creative needs context-specific review.

FAQ
Questions before campaign review
Should the banner always go at the top?+
No. The best position depends on faces, captions, action, and interface controls. Review both positions in the full video.
Are the website examples final specifications?+
No. They demonstrate possible treatments. Confirm export requirements and placement rules for your own campaign.
Can the banner obscure a platform disclosure?+
Do not cover required disclosures or essential controls. Resolve conflicts during creative review before publication.
